Please join us this spring as we read and study, Grace to Stand Firm, Grace to Grow by Carol Ruvolo, a study of the books of 1st and 2nd Peter. Using the Bible and this fantastic resource, we will learn how to stand firm in the midst of trial, and triumph with grace as we reflect God’s glory in all of life’s circumstances.

Over a 13-week period, we will study Peter’s perspective of grace and how it helped our first-century brothers and sisters in Christ live out their high calling in Christ even in the midst of satanic attack. That perspective speaks just as clearly to us today in the midst of the anti-Christian culture in which we live.

Paul warned Timothy that “all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted” (2 Timothy 3:12), and Peter admonished his readers not to be surprised at the “fiery ordeal” among them (I Peter 4:12). Persecution, with the temptation to apostasy is the atmosphere in which Christians are surrounded. Satan does prowl like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour, and those whose lives are reflecting God’s glory best are his first choice on the menu. If we want to walk worthy of our high calling in Christ, we need to listen to Peter and apply what he says to us…we need to stand firm and grow in the true grace of God.

When calling to register, please indicate your preference for either the Tuesday morning study, from 10:00-11:30 AM, with leader Frances Wollner, or the Thursday evening study from 7:00-8:30 PM, with leader Lisa Schmidt. We will begin the Tuesday morning study on February 28th and the Thursday evening study on March 1st and will continue for 13 weeks, with some dates off for holidays. A detailed schedule will be provided at the first study.

We are located just 15 minutes from Amherst and Williamsville, and directions are available on the church website. Both studies will take place at the Family Life Center (Fireside Room), just seconds down the road from the church. We look forward to having you join us!
